From a Simple Beginning to a National Recognition
I am Rahul Maharana, an environmental activist from Odisha and the founder of Odisha Mangrove Cleanup. I began my journey with a simple mission — to protect our coast, mangroves and marine ecosystems from plastic pollution. Through regular cleanup drives, awareness campaigns, mangrove conservation and community participation, I continue working towards a cleaner and more sustainable Odisha. My journey was recognised through the National Youth Award 2022–23 for my contribution to environmental conservation.
