The Odisha Mangrove Cleanup began with a simple mission — to protect the mangrove forests near the Devi River mouth from plastic pollution.
What started as an individual effort gradually grew into regular cleanup drives, with volunteers and local communities joining the movement. Together, we have worked to remove plastic waste from the mangroves and beaches while creating awareness about the importance of protecting these fragile coastal ecosystems.
Mangroves protect our coastline, support biodiversity, store carbon and provide a safe habitat for marine life. Every cleanup drive is therefore not just about removing waste — it is about protecting nature and building a cleaner, more sustainable Odisha.
From one small effort to a growing movement — the cleanup continues. 🌿🌊♻️
